Area Agencies on Aging Association of Michigan (known as 4AM) is a statewide association that advocates on behalf of Michigan seniors. We are a collective voice and action to promote healthy aging, dignity, and independence. 4AM is the association responsible for advocacy, training, and education for the sixteen Area Agencies on Aging across the state of Michigan.
AAA's are experts on all aspects of aging, assisting older adults and caregiveers with information and resources. AAA's provide care management services including five core services: nutrition, caregiver resources, health & wellness programs, elder rights, and supportive services. AAA's also perform needs assessments and determine eligibility for government funded programs.
Advocacy efforts of the AAA's and the Association are made on a national, state, and regional level. Through the Association, its members participate in advocacy efforts that impact seniors and persons with disabilities. Our goal is to provide timely information on important issues and bills being discussed and voted on in the national and state Legislatures.
The Area Agencies on Aging Association of Michigan and our members are heartbroken by the recent senseless deaths of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd and countless others over the past many years.
We stand in Solidarity with everyone seeking a more just society. Our organization is committed to being diverse and inclusive. We remain dedicated to the dignity and independence of all older adults and people with disabilities, and to assure equal access to supports and services provided by Michigan's aging network.
